The Millennium Sports Facility is managed by Somersham Sports and Leisure Association (SSLA) a registered charity on behalf of Somersham Parish Council. Charity Registration no. 1101674

Charity Trust Objects: 
1. “In the interests of social welfare, to improve conditions of life for the inhabitants of the Parish of Somersham and its neighbourhood without distinction of political, religious or other opinions by the provision and maintenance, or assisting in the provision and maintenance, of facilities for sports, recreation or other leisure time occupation; 
2. The advancement of education for the public benefit”

Our History:
Funding provision breakdown


  • Sport England Lottery Funding £276,683.00
  • Huntingdonshire District Council Grant Aid £10,000.00
  • Public Works Loan Board (PWLB) Loan £94,000.00
  • Somersham Parish Council £44,999.00
  • TOTAL cost to build the sports facility £425,682.00


Once funding was secured work started in 1998 to construct the pavilion and sports field.
The facility was opened on 31st May 2003 by Somersham born England Cricketer Nick Knight.
